The other day, somone posted the below video on Facebook. Basically, it was a father, who discovered something his daughter wrote on her Facebook wall, basically complaining about the chores she has to do and bad mouthing her parents.
First a warning, there is bad language used in this video, as he reads what his daughter posted on her Facebook wall.
Second, this is an example of a poor response as a parent. [Read more...]

I Want a Facebook for GrownUps
Ok, I am really a very social gal – especially online. I love all these social networking sites and applications like Twitter. Twitter is my hands-down favorite. If you’re asking, “What is Twitter?”, I’ve got an ebook that will help you. Follow me on Twitter, if you’re not already.
Now, the reason for this post is Facebook. I’m on there, I have friends and that’s all well and good; but for the love of all things sane and mature – what is up with all those apps?! I’m not kidding – the Christmas ornaments, care bear hugs, candy kisses or whatever other kind of goofy and silly app that folks try to send me through Facebook – that then causes me to have to install this said app on my Facebook space – drives me insane! I ignore them. They remind me of silly things Jr. High girls do – ya know, about that maturity level.
Hey, I’m all for having fun. I’m a fun gal – I love to laugh, have a sense of humor and all that; but honestly I’m an adult, I am not going to send my friends care bear hugs, or whatever other goofy app via Facebook. If I was 12 I guess I would think that was really cool. I’m not and I don’t.
So is there a Facebook for grown-ups? I know there are pages on Facebook, but you can’t seem to avoid the apps requests. If Facebook could make it so we could turn off the apps feature that would be perfect; but apparently we can’t. We just have to keep ignoring/deleting all those requests. Time consuming and quite honestly – makes me not want to frequent Facebook all that often (and I don’t).
For a variety of reasons, I don’t like MySpace either. So is there a similar something to Facebook that does not have all those apps? I want to socialize with other grown-ups. You know mature adults. Nothing weird, kinky or anything remotely like that. Just social networking with others.
Seriously – I want to know is such a site exists. Send me a link and I’ll sign up in a New York minute. Because I’m not feelin’ the Facebook love; until it loses the apps.
So what about you: How do you feel about the Facebook apps?
