Well, I have all the squares cut for everything but the flannel middle layer. I originally bought a batting, and at the wisdom of Wardeh (the great crafter that she is!
), I am going to use flannel, as it would fray better to give that rag look. So I’m off in a bit to get some flannel.
Wardeh assures me that rag quilting is easy – so I may actually get to sit down to the sewing machine by tomorrow afternoon and start piecing together this quilt!
I have quite a bit of fabric, and may cut out some sample pieces to sew first, before I dig into the big quilt.
Now I’m off to get that flannel and then hopefully by the time I get back, Mark will be ready to help me sand the kitchen table and get that painted. I took some before pictures of my table so I can do my own version of an HGTV before/after makeover.

Traci, way to go! Have you done any sewing yet? Hope you found some good flannel. I am glad you’re doing that instead of batting. I just can’t imagine that batting would work as well. I am anxious to keep up with your progress!
Thanks Wardeh! No sewing yet, I spent most of the day at the doctor today and now I’m not feeling so well; but yes, I did find some good flannel. It’s more of a cream color – similar to a buttery ivory/yellow. It goes nicely with the other fabrics.
I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, Traci. The flannel sounds beautiful
Hope you feel better soon.
