Poll: eBooks or Printed?

booksThese days, you will find many web sites offering eBooks – which are books written in an online format (usually in pdf) that you can read online, or print them off yourself to read offline, if you choose. This really cuts down on production costs (obviously) and can save you a lot of money on the purchase price of the books. But the cost of ink and paper, if you print them, can get expensive. I’m not sure how many would sit at the computer and really read a book, so my question is this…..

Which do you prefer, books in eBook format, or books already bound and printed, that you don’t have to print using your ink and paper? [ please reply to this post with your preference to participate in this poll ]

I have been “working” on a parenting book for quite some time. I guess the term working is more of a thinking on it or mulling it over. I’ve actually started it; but time is not something I have a lot of in extra amounts and finding enough of it to do justice to the writing I want to do just hasn’t happened. However, I see that time coming at the first of the year, so I’m making plans to do some serious writing come January. I’m planning for it and purposely setting aside time for some writing projects that have been a very long time in coming. To do it right, I need to plan for it – so that’s what I’m doing.

If you wouldn’t mind answering the poll question for me, that would help me with some of the printing planning I may need to do. :)

I always like printed. Just my preference.

I prefer printed. I just love the smell and feel of a book. I couldn’t sit at a computer for very long and read the book; I would feel the need to print it out and read later. Then I would have the cost of paper and ink, just like you mentioned.
