If you have done any searching at all for legitimate stay at home jobs, you quickly realize that most are hoaxes. They are scams trying to sell you on the ‘get rich quick’ concept where you can earn tons of money while surfing the web in your PJs, or even while you sleep. We all want to believe this is possible, but deep down, we know we’re being fed a line of bull. These ‘businesses’ are often hawked as ‘work at home for moms’ or ‘work from home mom’ opportunities. Many of these so-called businesses are bunk. Which is a bit insulting considering some of the products I’ve seen. Us moms are smart business women, and having a uterus does not equate to stupidity! More than 14 percent of these women-owned firms were employers, with 7.1 million workers and $173.7 billion in annual payroll. Women-owned firms accounted for 6.5 percent of total employment in U.S. firms in 2002 and 4.2 percent of total receipts.¹ I’d say there are a lot of very smart business women making some serious strides (and money!) in the business world.

This still leaves us wondering how in the world so many folks are making a living working online and some burning questions remain: What are they doing? How did they learn what they know? Believe it or not, I have the answer. But first a little background…
