For those who follow me on Twitter, or are personal friends, you know that as of January 30, 2009, my husband Mark has been unemployed. This was really a planned unemployment as he worked for Chrysler and took a buy-out and chose to leave. Things are not looking good for Chrysler, particularly their Fenton, Missouri truck plant where Mark worked. So we opted to leave on our timing and not sitting around on pins and needles amidst the drama waiting for the axe to fall, so to speak.
So it’s been 2 weeks since he’s been off work. After getting some health testing out of the way that was long overdue, he’s kicking into high gear on what he’s going to do next to earn a living. We have some cushion money to last us a few months, but would prefer not to use that money and instead have been praying about a career for him.
Mark’s first love is audio/visual technology. That was the field he worked in for many years prior to his move to Chrysler. He went to Chrysler as the pay and benefits were much better than what he was making in the audio/visual field at that time. That said, even though he would love to get back into audio/visual work, he is open to other options.
Today he was searching Google for plumbing jobs (thinking this might be something he would also like), and entered a pay range for that; and within the returned listings for plumbing jobs: up pops an AUDIO/VISUAL position in St Louis and even above the pay range he and entered!! Now I don’t know about you, but we believe that to be God interceding! First thing tomorrow, he’s applying for that job. And get this, the place hiring is a place he has done audio/visual work for when he was A/V manager at another company! So they have already worked with him in the past!
I’m so excited at this new job prospect for Mark. It’s really what he’s gifted in doing, and would love to do. He has still been doing audio/visual work as the sound engineer for our church, even helping with some recordings, concerts held at our church and other similar events. He knows his stuff!
So please pray that if this is God’s will, that Mark will get this job. I’ll keep ya posted.

I know exactly where you are coming from, My DH has been out of a job for 9 mos. now- so many resumes & apps… yet NOTHING! It is scary! All of our reserve is gone… just flying on the wings of prayer now.
How exciting! I will be praying! Love, Wardeh
I keep telling folks God works in mysterious ways. His plan may not be our plan but he does know what he is doing.
Hi Tracy,
I just found your site and I love it.
My husband left his job in January also. Has your husband found a job yet?
My husband, Ronnie, left his job after feeling God moving him from it for quite a while. We are now basically waiting on God to open the next door. He has a job interview tomorrow that we are praying will be an open door, but we are not sure it’s the right job. Only God knows.
Blessings and praying this finds you with an employed husband!
Hi Traci
Any results yet on the your husbands job possibility ?
