If you have done any searching at all for legitimate stay at home jobs, you quickly realize that most are hoaxes. They are scams trying to sell you on the ‘get rich quick’ concept where you can earn tons of money while surfing the web in your PJs, or even while you sleep. We all want to believe this is possible, but deep down, we know we’re being fed a line of bull. These ‘businesses’ are often hawked as ‘work at home for moms’ or ‘work from home mom’ opportunities. Many of these so-called businesses are bunk. Which is a bit insulting considering some of the products I’ve seen. Us moms are smart business women, and having a uterus does not equate to stupidity! Consider these facts: In 2002, women owned 6.5 million or 28.2 percent of nonfarm U.S. firms. More than 14 percent of these women-owned firms were employers, with 7.1 million workers and $173.7 billion in annual payroll. Women-owned firms accounted for 6.5 percent of total employment in U.S. firms in 2002 and 4.2 percent of total receipts.¹ I’d say there are a lot of very smart business women making some serious strides (and money!) in the business world.

This still leaves us wondering how in the world so many folks are making a living working online and some burning questions remain: What are they doing? How did they learn what they know? Believe it or not, I have the answer. But first a little background…

For those who don’t know, I’ve worked from home for the past ten years as a web designer and web host. I like that work just fine, but it’s time intensive to be ‘for hire’. I started following some internet marketing gurus online and more recently, on Twitter. I have learned a ton and found some methods to be right-on and helpful; and others fall way short of their hype.

I know you’re like me; you’re smart and realize that no one gets successful without hard work and effort. There is no free lunch when it comes to true long-lasting success. Online businesses are still businesses. Working online is still work. It requires effort, a business plan and action taken by you to accomplish your goals and dreams. Don’t fall for a load of bull and pie in the sky promises that you too can earn money in your PJs and you won’t have to do a thing. If you want to earn thousands of dollars each month, then it’s going to take work.

Don’t despair, I have found a resource and training that will genuinely give you good information and will help you. I have a few other equally as good of tools that I’ll share in the near future, but for now: go to Maverick Business Insider and sign-up. Interesting info!
Hey could you do me a completely selfish favor? Adjust your bloglines settings so that you most recent posts show up there and I don’t miss this kind of post?
Thanks!
Love you!
Sylvia

Hi Sylvi,
You adjust how posts are displayed within Bloglines on your end. When you click to read posts from a subscribed blog, and the messages appear in the right side window: just above those messages should be a link that either says “Sort Oldest First” or “Sort Newest First”. If you are seeing the ’sort oldest first’ message, then you already have your settings so that the very latest post is at the top. If you’re seeing the ’sort newest first’ message, click it to activate that to start seeing newest posts at the top.

Odd. I assume you did click my RSS link to the right and subscribe to my blog in your Bloglines. Try going through that process again, just in case it didn’t work for some reason previously.
