My three youngest children are creative (the older three are as well) - very creative. It is nearly a daily thing that my children are drawing, reading and participating in creative play of varying sorts. One thing all three do (yes, even Sam!) is to make clothes for their Barbie dolls, and Sam for his Ken dolls (yes I caved and they got Barbie/Ken dolls, and the world did not end, and my children could care less about their bodily proportions and all that is/could be wrong with Barbies
). Since the children do not actually sew - this is where the true creativity comes in, they take as many scraps of fabric that I will give them, elastic hair ties (aka: ‘ponies’), strips of ribbon, even bread ties, or the often-used Kleenex tissue - and they get to creating.
Here is one such end-product: a lovely tissue dress, with accenting pink belt and a flattering criss-cross bodice. Also comes with a coordinating full-length jacket (not shown). Designer: Hannah, age 6
So my internet friends, a question: are your children creative? Please share some of their creations, I’d love to see them!

Have cute! My daughter makes beds for all of her stuffed animals out of wash cloths. Then she gets her hair bands and uses them for belts for her dolls. It’s never dull around here. ![]()
