Part of Missouri are having some serious flooding. In the town where I live, the Meramec State Park is flooded. Mark and I went today and took these photos:

In the flood of 1982, I lost everything I owned. Needless to say, I’m not fond of floods and they put me a bit on edge. Suffice to say - I’m not a water person.
In the town we lived before we moved here 3 years ago, they are evacuating parts of the town. This is also where my daughter, son-in-law and grandbaby still live. Thankfully, they do not live in the part of town that is in danger; but still - many others do.
My husband’s work is at risk. They were sandbagging the parking lot last night. He tried to call in to work a bit ago to see if he is to go in. No answer. He’s going in anyway. Some roads are closed. The main highway there is still open. Pray his work is not effected. Pray no lives are lost. Pray the water recedes - and quickly.
I have a whole new respect for Noah and his ark.
I’ve been working on my modified spring cleaning this week, in preparation for the Easter family event here this weekend. I’m making progress and going room-by-room and really digging in and getting some deeper cleaning done. Not a full and true spring cleaning, but doing things that I want to do (thus why it’s modified
)
I’ve gotten all the children’s rooms done, the dining room, my office and organized some cabinets and drawers in the kitchen as well. My sweet hubby also organized the hall coat closet and cleaned out the coffee table baskets and the drawer in the living room end table. Tomorrow we intend to work on the basement together to straighten that and then shampoo the carpet.
Speaking of my dining room, here’s my new dining room rug! I really warms up that room. Can you
believe I found this at Walmart?! So affordable too and it looks like it was made just for my dining room from the print to the colors. I love it!
The new slipcovers for the living room arrived today! Squee! Just in time. The sofa and chair were looking pitiful and could no longer be cleaned to my satisfaction. Slipcovers were definitely needed. Eventually, I plan to buy leather furniture, but for now, slipcovers it is.
I’m praying I can get everything done I need to. I still need to do the basement, kitchen, all three bathrooms, the living room, my bedroom, bathe all four dogs, straighten my grooming room, grocery shop and then cook some of the food on Saturday. The event starts Sunday morning at 11:00 am. I only have so much energy each day and some of this if I did it too soon, would get un-done by Sunday. So I’m trying to work on things that won’t get un-done before then. Pray for me!
