The children are all home sick from school with strep throat.  *lovely*  The weather also turned much colder again, so I’m making a large stock pot of bean soup today (one of Emily’s favorites).

Hannah, my usual side-kick, was watching me rinse and sort beans very early this morning, then watched as I drained them, chopped onions and was adding some spices to the fresh water as I set it all to boil.  One thing I add is some bullion cubes for some added flavor……

Hannah is watching this intently and asks me why I was putting dog treats in the bean soup.
