I stayed home from church today, I’m not feeling well. Mark took the kiddos and went. I didn’t do a whole lot yesterday either. I’m fighting a virus I guess - a bad cold? I’m not sure. Nothing too serious, but I ache all over, I’m exhausted, nasal congestion, cough, etc…. cold type stuff. I can’t sleep well, even with nighttime cold meds, so that’s part of why I’m tired.
Our first daycare child started the second half of last week. It went very well; although, even though there’s two of us here with only one child, I’m not quite able to get into the swing of my computer work that needs doing and juggle full-time daycare too. I’m going to have to be extra diligent in getting up early to work, working at least an hour or two in the evenings and weekends to keep up. I can work some during nap times during the day, but it’s hard, with someone else here, to absorb myself into the work and concentrate like I need to. Kathy and I also plan to work on a Bible study together during nap times and try to squeeze in some exercise video/DVD time too. Our daily schedule can easily accommodate these things now with only one child here who naps twice per day, but when we start adding more children, it may not be as easy. So we’ll see how it all works out.
Anywho, while I was home alone this morning, I did some reading and studying in my Bible and had a nice time of quiet prayer and reflection. I watched Ed Young on TV this morning and caught a little bit of Joel Olsteen. I like both of them okay, but really prefer Ed Young’s teaching style. Ed Young’s Creative Church Conference is coming to St Louis on March 26th, and I believe my pastor and I will be going! I’m so excited! I think the conference will help us with ideas for our church, as well as ideas perhaps to help me with my ministry as a whole.
Some days I love my life and the variety of things I do; and other days, I feel overwhelmed and like I need to scale back. I’m praying about all that, but for now, I pray that God give me the priorities I need and the strength to follow through and keep up!
