My Sewing-Cutting Table

Yesterday, my husband Mark bought me this sewing cutting table from Walmart!! :D Robin S. – is this the one that your hubby bought you? I know you mentioned he got you one from Walmart, so I’m thinkin’ this is probably the same one, or something similar.

These are pictures off the front of the box it came in, as I won’t be getting this put together until next weekend, because Mark is out putting together the children’s new SWING SET!!! :-) He was getting out my box and was going to help me put together my sewing cutting table, but I knew he had planned to do the children’s swing set, and well….. I could wait. ;) So I’ll share the pictures of my sewing cutting table for now. :D

Here it is closed. A compact size, great for when I move my sewing room down to Sam’s current bedroom – as it’s much smaller than the room I currently have for my sewing/craft room (which will soon become the girls’ bedroom). Clear as mud?! LOL

This is what it looks like with both leaves open. You can also just open one leaf at a time.

And here’s the view of the storage areas in the table. Pretty cool!!

Edited 8-9-07 to add the following information on the sewing table, as I’ve received so many emails regarding this wonderful table!! :D

The table is made by Dimensions Furniture and is called a Sewing and Craft Cart model #908.

Cart dimensions (cart is 37.25″High and 36″Deep):
closed: 19″ wide
one leaf open: 42.5″ wide
both leaves open: 66.25″ wide

I purchased the table shortly after Mother’s Day in 2006, so it may have been a special purchase for Walmart for that season. I’m not sure. But perhaps the above specifics on the table will help you find it through a web search. It’s well worth it, if you can find it!! I just LOVE IT! It’s now all put together and sitting nicely in my sewing/craft/kitten room. ;) (yes, I’m sharing my sewing room with the new kittens. LOL)

While the sewing cutting table exactly like mine is no longer available from Walmart, I did find this nice sewing craft table. With all the visitors my site gets for this – I thought this might help those of you looking for such a table.

How nice! I can’t wait to see pictures of your new sewing room…… or see it in person
its really a blessing to have a separate room for sewing, isn’t it?

Yes ma’am – I love having a sewing/craft room. Truly a blessing. :-)

Awesome, Traci! What a great thing to have in your sewing room. :)

I know I’m so excited!!!!!!!! :D

Dear Traci,

Hello! Darrell’s been home a bunch over the past two weeks, so I’ve not been over. I *love* your table!! Are you making good use of it yet? :D

It must be the one they got after my model sold out. It looks exactly the same, but different.

Have fun sewing with it! Hugggs, Robin

Hi there Robin – yes, I knew your Darrell was home. So it’s exactly the same but different – strangely, I think I understand what you mean!

Can you believe it’s not even put together yet?!!! We have been soooo busy, and Mark gets so little time and has a longer to-do list than he’s got time to-do. ;) It won’t be this weekend, as Sylvia is coming Friday and Saturday and Sunday after church we’re going to my parents’ house to celebrate Emily and my dad’s birthdays. Maybe next weekend. ;)

Love your sewing table! I’d love to have a little room of my own, for crafting or just to spend some time alone. Unfortunately, after our oldest moved out, Carl turned his room into a room for him to work on computers. Now that our youngest has moved out, he’s talking about turning his room into a poker room. Since he hasn’t been working on computers, in his computer room, I’m considering asking him to clear the stuff out of there.

I think your sewing table is just great and what I am looking for. I cannot find it at Walmart on line Traci, do you know the brand name of this cart or who makes it? What department did your husband find it in. ?Walmart has essentialy done away with sewing and crafts in our area. Anyway that I can track it down would be apprecitated. Thanks, Needles

I purchased the same cart and I love it! It’s a great way to keep things organized plus I still pinch myself on the amazing deal I got on it from Wal-mart. It was being clearanced out and there was 1 left. It was marked down to $60 which was a steal but I thought I’d see how much more I could save and let me tell you, I purchased the cart for an unbelievable price of only $20!!!! That’s right! Only $20.00. I saved the front of the box with the red clearance price tag because my friends just can’t believe it when I tell them.

[...] Oooooo – look at this lovely sewing cutting table I happened upon today.  WOW!  It’s a wee bit expensive, but hey – if you can afford that, I say go for it!  It looks very nicely made, completely with a cutting mat.  It looks very, very much like my sewing cutting table. [...]

[...] sewing cutting table that I have is apparently no longer available from Walmart and must have been a one-time buy type [...]

[...] of my prized possessions is a gift my husband gave me one year for Mother’s Day: a sewing cutting table. I had wanted one for a long time, before they went on clearance at my local Walmart and my husband [...]

 Traci, hope i can find a table just like yours, love it. sassy

I am super jealous of your cool cutting table. I’ve wanted one of those for awhile now, I just don’t sew enough to convince myself to go out and buy one!

Hey Loretta! You do know that sewing cutting tables aren’t just for sewing – they can be used to all types of crafting (even folding laundry :P ).
