For many years now, I’ve mentored women in areas of homekeeping and parenting.  My area of focus has mostly been in parenting.  God gave me a vision and calling for my life that I was to help unwed mothers in particular.  However, with the online ministry, it’s really not possible to effectively mentor and minister to teens/women in crisis pregnancy situations.  So I waited God’s timing in how he would bring about this calling in my life.  The time is NOW!  I’m so honored, humbled and yes, even a bit excited, that the time is here.

A couple months ago, I saw a brochure at my doctor’s office about a crisis pregnancy center in my area.  I tried calling the number on the brochure, but never received a response.  Yesterday, my pastor’s wife spoke with someone who knew the director of this new center and they are soliciting support from local churches.  Of course my pastor’s wife knew of my calling and my heart in this area and mentioned me.  So her and I will be meeting with the director, as soon as we can make an appointment to do so!  I feel God is calling me to help with this ministry!!  I’m also mentoring within my church and feel humbled and honored that God has chosen to use my sinful past, and resulting testimony, to help others.

Please pray for this new crisis pregnancy center and the girls and young women who find themselves needing these services.  It’s sad that we should even need a crisis pregnancy center at all - but we do.  It is my desire to reach these girls before they have sex to prevent any further need!!  I will begin teaching a parenting class at my church in May.  I pray that through this class, parents can connect/re-connect with their children, mend bridges and strengthen relationships to avoid their daughters (and sons!) from making wrong choices.
