I’m on several networking groups. These groups are primarily for my chosen profession of web design. Whenever you join these types of groups, you post an introduction. Usually, I post an intro that highlights the area of my life that is most pertinent to the topic of the networking group, and then usually mention the other areas of my life that are also important to me, as they make up who I am.

Within these groups, your signature line is a quick way to sum up a person. You get a quick glimpse at what they do, their web site link, etc…. I’ve discovered an interesting thing, in that many folks don’t just do one thing as a profession. Many are working two or three different types of home businesses, or are working a full-time job, while trying to start a home business, and would list all this in their signature line. That got me to thinking that I wasn’t accurately listing everything I do, and that perhaps I should, as it might help someone else.

My new signature for this one particular network states: My Profession (web design), My Calling (T2CHK ministry), My Hobby (Shih Tzu breeding) + My God-given role (wife and mother). All of these things together make me who I am; and I have used each of these areas to minister and witness to others.

I am wired to like to do many different things; thus why I do many different things! I also make soap and have other hobbies that I enjoy, but have chosen Shih Tzus as my main focus because of the enjoyment I get from these dogs. I also have other talents that I could have used as a profession (sewing, soapmaking, organizing, etc….), but chose web design as it allows me to work from home, and be here to do the other roles God has called me to: ministry, and of course, wife and mother. Above all things, I am first a child of God, then a wife, then a mother, then a mentor and the web design and dogs come in after that.

What roles do you have in life? Has God called you to more than one? Do you have your priorities in the proper Biblical order? God - Husband - Children - ?? …….? Most people are multi-faceted in what they like and do. Has God given you different things to like and enjoy? I’d love to hear what they are!
